EA DICE Says Star Wars Battlefront II Will Not Feature Droideka

It looks like those awesome droids will not be rolling out in Star Wars Battlefront II. EA DICE has just addressed theories about the Droideka being a hidden bonus in the game.

Fans got excited when what appears to be a Droideka was spotted in the Clone Wars content that was shared in a community post. Soon, people were coming up with theories on how the rolling droids will appear in the game. The reaction was so great that EA DICE decided to make an official announcement about the matter on Reddit.

"When we first started to see mentions of Droideka the instant answer from us was 'no', which at the time we believed to be 100% correct.
This is because we currently have no active plans for a Droideka, nor do we have any assets within our active development version of the game. While we saw the similarities, we believed it could have been a crashed speeder or environmental clutter.
This is why we came out and said that it wasn't. We wanted to react quick, and to communicate but more importantly, we didn't want you to think something was coming that wasn't. This is why we confirmed that it wasn't one."

People were understandably disappointed with the news and responded that the Droideka would have been a great addition to the game. Let's hope that the developers consider this and add the Rolly Boys in the future.

EA DICE also stated that the screenshot was taken from a version of the game that utilized "unused assets" and they will be taking measures to prevent this in the future.
