Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: Hero Coliseum Available In Latest Update

Fans who are still playing Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 have reason to rejoice, as Bandai Namco has released the latest update of the game. Aside from general fixes, the update also adds support to the latest DLC Pack and adds the new Hero Coliseum mode for free. It's good seeing the developers from Dimps continue to support the game, especially with Dragon Ball FighterZ coming out in January.

Hero Coliseum is an all-new mode that lets players battle other opponents with statues that represent the other playable characters in the game. It's similar to the Japanese-only Dragon Ball Heroes series, though those games use cards over action figures just found in the game. Combat is similar to a tactical RPG ala Final Fantasy Tactics, with super and ultimate attacks using the same animations from the main game.

There will also be a separate campaign for the Hero Coliseum, so players that want to battle their friends will be able to do that with their character figures. If anything, it adds, even more, replayability to the addictive MMO/Fighting Game. Adding a new mode this late in the game's lifespan gives players hope that even more unique gameplay mechanics can be added in the future.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is out now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The update is available for all systems.
