Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball Z Kai Heading to Toonami

Dragon Ball fans can look forward to two shows premiering in Toonami come January next year.

As Funimation, Toei Animation, and Adult Swim's holiday gift to fans, it's finally confirmed that Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters will debut in English dub on Toonami.

Dragon Ball Super will be the latest adventure in the DB saga, so series creator Akira Toriyama will be working on the project together with the team.

Those who have been following the franchise will also be happy to know that the seiyuus will be reprising their roles once more.

Funimation CEO and founder Gen Fukunaga expressed his excitement for the partnership. He also seems very optimistic of the new show, stating:

"We're extremely pleased to join with Toei Animation in this broadcast partnership with Adult Swim to bring Dragon Ball Super to a whole new generation of TV audiences. I have no doubt that Dragon Ball Super will eclipse the television success of the original Dragon Ball series that first aired here more than 20 years ago when anime was still new to the US. Those kids that grew up watching Dragon Ball now have kids of their own."

The series has its own official website, DragonBallSuperOfficial.com, in lieu of its English dub production.

Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters will also be out on the same day as Dragon Ball Super. Funimation has also recently released the list of seiyuu vis-a-vis their roles, seen here.

Both anime series will air on Jan 7, 2017. Dragon Ball Super will premiere on Adult Swim's Toonami at 8 pm and 11:30 pm ET, while Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters will air at midnight.
