Dragon Ball Super: Broly Promo Reveals Broly's Controversial New Look

Toei Animation

Broly will return to the screen when

Dragon Ball Super: Broly

hits theaters this winter, and fans are excited to see the fan-favorite villain finally become a part of the official canon in the film. While Broly has been well-received by fans lately, one big change to his look could totally reverse that.

Fans are expecting Broly to look a certain way but some fans are already disappointed with what they've seen recently.

On Twitter, images of Broly started appearing from a recent promo, and some fans have expressed their rage online. As you can see below, Broly is seen in his powered-up up form but he looks way off.

In this image, Broly's neck looks so thick and the fighter's thick muscles have so many highlights. This promo is quite different from the flatter style that Naohiro Shintani is bringing to the

Dragon Ball Super

film. So far, Broly's new look in the trailers has been well-received but this outdated style is fueling their anger, but thankfully, it turns out that this promo was released to promote the

Dragon Ball Heroes

franchise overseas so don't expect this look to appear in the film.

Official Synopsis:

This is the story of a new Saiyan. Earth is peaceful following the Tournament of Power. Realizing that the universes still hold many more strong people yet to see, Goku spends all his days training to reach even greater heights. Then one day, Goku and Vegeta are faced by a Saiyan called 'Broly' who they've never seen before. The Saiyans were supposed to have been almost completely wiped out in the destruction of Planet Vegeta, so what's this one doing on Earth? This encounter between the three Saiyans who have followed completely different destinies turns into a stupendous battle, with even Freeza (back from Hell) getting caught up in the mix.

Dragon Ball Super is available for streaming on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST.
