Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece & Death Note Collide in New Trailer For Jump Force

Bandai Namco

At E3 2018 today, Bandai Namco has announced Jump Force, a new game that mashes up popular anime and manga characters from Shonen Jump, like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, and Death Note. The trailer features Goku, Frieza, Luffy, Naruto, and at the end, you'll see Yagami Light and Ryuk. The fighting game is expected to be released in 2019.

Jump Force's tagline "Unite to Fight" makes the game seems more like a heroes-against-villains brawler than a versus fighting game, and it looks like the characters have come together in New York City for some reason. If this ends up being just a versus fighting game, I just wonder how Death Note's Yagami and Light will actually fight. What's he going to do? Write the names of his enemies for an instant kill? This is cool and all but, of course, anime fans want to see more anime characters in action. Where's Ichigo from Bleach or Saitama from One Punch Man? I'm sure they'll reveal more characters for this game. Maybe this will settle the debates about who's more powerful than who among fans.
