Dominaria will finally be available next week but not just on paper and Magic: The Gathering Online. The new digital game Magic: The Gathering Arena is also adding the new Magic set as well as new updates and events starting April 26.
Wizards of the Coast Digital Game Development Producer Chris Cao has announced that Magic: The Gathering Arena is getting a major update on April 26, and that includes the addition of the Dominaria set plus best-of-one events, and on May 4, they'll add best-of-one Draft events, so that means players will soon be able to draft in MTG Arena for the first time!
A small group of streamers will be a part of the special preview of Dominaria on April 25 from 1–5 p.m. However, they'll only have access to the new content for one day. There will also be a special livestream on twitch.tv/magic on the same day at 12 p.m. PT, so be sure to check them out online.
The announcement also revealed that they will start an experiment with the release of the update. They'll be performing a limited test of redeemable game codes in New Zealand only. Prerelease packs and booster packs in New Zealand will have an in-game code that New Zealand residents can get for in-game items in MTG Arena.
Hopefully, the experiment will lead to bringing more in-game codes for MTG Arena or Magic Online around the world. That would definitely motivate more players to play online and buy packs.
