Disney Unveils Breathtaking First Footage of Live-Action Lion King at D23 Expo

Who would have imagined seeing our unforgettable 90's Disney Classic, Lion King in live action? Well, D23 Expo witnessed that breakthrough this weekend as Disney showcased one of the classic animated movie's best scenes, which is not

Disney just made another historical night at the D23 Expo revealing the first ever footage from the Lion King's remake. The preview amazed and made the jaws of the crowd of about 7,000 drop.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the preview featured the most remarkable scene on the Pride Rock. With The Circle of Life, an Elton John song playing on the background, major elements from the movie appeared on the scene.

As the song went on, the camera then focused on Rafiki who looked exactly like how he did in the movie. Then comes the most awaited Simba, who seemed to be a lot furrier than he was, appearing to be more of a real lion cub.

Favreau and his team proved that they truly did a good job and did not fail the audience expectation on the remake of what was acclaimed as Disney's close to perfect movie. However, with the show set for release on July 19, 2019, the team still has a lot of work to do.
