Director Rian Johnson Teases End of Star Wars: Episode VIII Filming

While we wait for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to hit theaters this December, production on Rian Johnson's Star Wars: Episode VIII is currently happening in London, and with filming going for several months now, we can assume that principal photography for Episode VIII will wrap up soon, and the director shared some updates on social media.

Thanks to Club Jade for pointing out these Instagram and Twitter posts that hint the end of Episode VIII's filming.

First off: On Instagram, Johnson shared a photo of what appears to be inside a soundstage:

Next is a photo Johnson shared on Twitter showing a piece of clothing with "VIII" embroidered on it:

Johnson also shared a photo of himself wearing a hat featuring a Panda in an Astronaut's helmet, which is an obvious nod to the sequel's code name "Space Bear".

And here's the most obvious evidence that filming is wrapping up:

Johnson was confirmed to appear in Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016, along with the Han Solo movie directors Phil Lord and chris Miller.

Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Benicio del Toro, Star Wars: Episode VIII is set to release in theaters on December 15, 2017.
