The Tokyo Olympics finally came to a close this weekend and Japan made sure to shine the spotlight on Demon Slayer. As dancers performed for the closing ceremony, an awesome cover of the anime's opening theme played. Check it out below.

It's an unexpected ska twist to LiSA's Gurenge but it's definitely a welcome one for fans who have been missing hearing the theme while watching the anime. Hopefully, we'll get to hear it again soon.

It shouldn't be a surprise that Demon Slayer has been making an appearance at the Tokyo Olympics. It's no secret that both the manga and the anime have been making waves internationally. The film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train was also an international blockbuster earlier this year. With that in mind, everyone now knows about the story of Tanjiro, Nezuko, and the rest of the Demon Slayer Corps.

Another theme from Demon Slayer was actually used in the early parts of the Tokyo Olympics. For the qualifying round of the women's floor event, Mexican gymnast Alexa Moreno performed her routine to a snippet from the theme Demon Slaying Corps.

For now, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. However, it is expected to premiere before the end of 2021.
