Deadpool 2 Writer Talks About John Wick Director Taking Over

A lot of fans were sad to see original Deadpool director Tim Miller leave the sequel, but the director chair has now been taken by John Wick helmer David Leitch. Recently, Deadpool 2 co-screenwriter had a talk with IGN and talked about what it was like to have someone else leading the project.

Reese said:

"It's been phenomenal. David has his own, you know, point of view that's different from Tim's. He comes into a situation obviously where there already exists a tone and a style, so he's going to stay pretty close to that, I think. But at the same time, he brings a new approach and it's enlivened us definitely to try new things and to do things a little bit different from the first Deadpool. Not drastically, but enough that you get the sense that it's coming from a slightly different team. We love Tim Miller to death, we also love Dave now. I think you'll be very satisfied with what we're cooking up. We are loving our script right now, and the direction that it's headed. So I think audiences hopefully will be pleased."

That's great to hear since a lot of people were starting to lose faith after Miller left. It was apparently so bad that even composer Junkie XL left the sequel. At least the Reynolds and the writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are still on board. What would Deadpool 2 be without "God's Perfect Idiot" and "The Real Heroes" of the first movie?

Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch and is expected to release sometime in early 2018.
