DC’s Metahuman Thesis Explained in New ‘BvS 101’ Video

In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, audiences were introduced to the concept of metahumans in the DC Extended Universe when Bruce Wayne got a hold of Lex Luthor’s secret computer files revealing a number of other "gods among us." However, their introduction was quite vague, which is understandable considering the limited time the movie had for delving into these things.

Well, fans and moviegoers are now given a breakdown of what the "metahuman thesis" is in a new installment of BvS 101. Take a look:

In the BvS 101 video, it’s explained how basically, from the term itself, a metahuman is any figure on Earth who has superpowers. One thing metahumans have in common with us humans is that they can be either good or evil, or perhaps a mixture of both.

We’re already aware of one group of good metahumans, which is the Justice League, coming to the big screen next year. Introduced in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, this organization of good metahumans consist of Wonder Woman, Superman, Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg, who take it upon themselves to protect the good people of Earth from their evil counterparts.

There are also other metahumans to be introduced in the DCEU aside from the Justice League, with Green Lantern Corpsand Shazam on the way. Clearly, metahumans are very real and aren’t just part of a study any longer. While the Justice League are obviously a big help for the Earth’s governments, there are still villainous metahumans, and it remains to be seen how this will play out in the society of the DCEU.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be available on digital HD on June 28 and on Blu-ray and DVD on July 19. Meanwhile, Justice League Part One hits theaters on November 17, 2017.
