DC Universe App Aiming for August Release, Includes New Shows, Old Shows, and Comics

The upcoming DC Universe streaming app has gotten many fans interested in the product, with shows like Titans and Young Justice: Outsiders immediately getting attention. However, DC has not been open about the app's release, aside from saying that it will be coming out this year. Sure, shows like Swamp Thing and Doom Patrol have been announced, but we won't know when we will see them.

Until recently at least.

During the James Bonding podcast, DC Entertainment Community Manager Dani Snow stated that the company is aiming for a late August release. That's the closest thing we've had to an official release date and it might be enough to get the calendar for.

Snow also revealed that the app would be a hub for all things DC, confirming that the service would be home to a number of movies, older shows, and surprisingly enough, comics. News of older DC shows being on the app should please many since it might mean we'll see episodes of Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League.

Knowing that there will be comics in the app should be interesting and could be DC's answer to the Marvel Unlimited service. That app offers a ton of comics to fans for a solid monthly price and it would be cool if DC had something similar to it.

Will we see the DC Universe app in August? It would be awesome if it did.
