DC Comics: Catwoman's Response To Batman's Marriage Proposal

With so much attention going to the movies, some fans can forget that DC comics is still trudging along. With the latest issue of Batman having Bruce Wayne proposing to Selina Kyle, DC has revealed to USA Today what her answer is going to be.

And the answer?:

Batman writer Tom King explains:

"That to me is what true love is… It's showing who you truly are to someone. It's letting someone know deep down who you are and that's horribly frightening and it scares Batman as much as anything ever has. They're two broken people, and because they're broken, they have the edges that fit together."

In a previous issue, the Flashpoint version of Batman, Thomas Wayne, had asked Bruce to not be Batman and to find happiness for himself. Some were lead to believe that this could mean the end of Batman, but this scene was most likely a build-up to his proposal to Selina.

Like every fan community, there would be some who would say that this move would be ridiculous on Batman's part, and King already has a response for them:

"Some people are going to think, ‘Oh, my gosh, he's gone insane, we need to fix him.' And others will go, ‘He's gone sane. We finally have a Batman we've been looking for… Most superheroes, you make them happy and you end conflict - you give Spider-Man a wife and where do you go from there? But Batman's the opposite: You give him happiness and you create conflict, because he's fundamentally a sad character."

The whole event takes place in Batman #32, and the issue comes out on Wednesday.
