DC Announces Titans Live-Action Series For New Digital Streaming Platform

Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment is preparing a Teen Titans live-action webseries for the studios' upcoming digital streaming platform set to go live next year.

Titled Titans, the series is co-produced by a lot of big names including DC Entertainment President and DC Comics chief creative officer Geoff Johns, Supergirl executive producer Greg Berlanti and Star Trek: Discovery producer Akiva Goldsman. The series which currently in production along with the third season of Young Justice, another show which is slated to debut in Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment's upcoming digital platform.

According to the announcement, Titans will showcase some of the characters of the Cartoon Network Teen Titans like Starfire, Raven and Dick Grayson. Johns has also recently teased the inclusion of Beast Boy, taking to Twitter to express his excitement over the show with a hashtag to Beastboy at the end of his post.

Though this doesn't really confirm the involvement of the Changeling, it's hard to imagine a Teen Titans live-action without the green colored, animal-shape-shifting Titan. Cyborg is yet to be announced as well but with DC teasing Dick Grayson leading "many other" superheroes, it's very likely that he too will appear in the series.

While Warner Bros. did try to produce a pilot for a Titans live-action series way back in 2014 for TNT, the show never really hung on. Now with heavy hitters like Johns and Berlanti on the project, fans are assured that the project will hopefully pick up speed online.

Titans and Young Justice season 3 are slated to premiere sometime in 2018.
