David Hasselhoff Wants A “Dark” Knight Rider Movie That Feels Like Logan

It seems like David Hasselhoff wants a Knight Rider reboot that's just as dark as Logan.

Though the actor revealed earlier this month that Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn was working on getting the rights to the Knight Rider series to make his own television series, it seems like the Guinness World Record holder also wants to do a film adaptation that takes a few notes from Hugh Jackman's R-rated swan song as Wolverine.

Speaking with Cinemablend, Hasselhoff revealed that he wants to return as Knight Rider in a storyline similar to Logan.

"I have met Robert Rodriguez. He does Dusk til Dawn and Machete. And I said 'You need to do Knight Rider.' Because he was doing a marathon of Knight Riders and he said 'Can we have a selfie!?' And I said, 'No, I don't want a selfie! I want to do the movie! I want to shoot the TV series! I want to bring it back and make it dark! Michael Knight comes back and he's pissed.' ... I hope it happens, and if it does, it'll be kind of like Logan. It will be dark. Hasselhoff as Michael Knight in 2017. Knight Rider. The saga continues."

Though it breaks away from the outlandish tone of the original Knight Rider series, a dark film adaptation might bring in fans if delivered well enough. Unfortunately, there hasn't been any movement on any Knight Rider movie, and it's uncertain whether Rodriguez would move forward and develop the project.
