Netflix is making it clear that Bullseye is here to take on Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). The new trailer for Daredevil Season 3 introduces us to Agent Benjamin Poindexter (Will Bethel), who will play a key role in the Marvel series.
The trailer opens with Poindexter being asked about "the ambush." The scene suggests that the FBI agent had to rescue Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) from an attack. Poindexter is clearly unhappy with the subject. "If I was wearing a mask, the press would be calling me a hero," he retorts. We see that he is very good at taking down the attackers, hitting the mark every time.
All that talent couldn't save Poindexter from himself. He admits that the FBI kept him "on the straight and narrow." Unfortunately, it isn't enough. "But now, I'm drowning in deep water," he admits. All this time, a female voice keeps urging him, "Do it, Dex," until he finally loses it.
The first part of the trailer offers a glimpse at the Bullseye hat and the fake Daredevil approaching Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll). If you needed confirmation that Poindexter will be putting on the suit, you'll get it in the second half of the video.
Fisk is impressed with the new character. "I've never seen a talent like yours," he says, making the fake Daredevil smile. There is little doubt that Kingpin will be hiring Poindexter for a deadly purpose. "He found someone to kill me," Matt declares. At one point, we see the real Man Without Fear engaging his copycat but it doesn't look good. The trailer concludes with Karen weeping as she cradles Matt's body.
It's an impressive trailer that showcases Bullseye's skills. Needless to say, we're looking forward to seeing Poindexter in action later this month.
Daredevil Season 3 premieres on Netflix on October 19.
