Damon Lindelof Comments on a Possible Watchmen Season 2

Unless you're one of those people offended by the unsympathetic use of white supremacists in media, HBO's Watchmen has been a huge success with fans and critics alike. Fans loved the way this show continued the narrative of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' classic graphic novel, while also introducing us to new characters and scenarios. Everything about the series felt really relevant to everything the comic stood for, with some semi-hoping for a Watchmen Season 2.

Damon Lindelof, the showrunner of this acclaimed series, previously said that this would be a self-contained series and he isn't wrong. If Watchmen were to end the way it did with no other season, fans would gladly accept that since it truly felt like an ending. Still, like the original story, there are possibilities to explore and Lindelof is aware of that.

Speaking with Variety, Lindelof admits that he used every idea he had for the first season but does think the show should continue in some form. While he would like the next season to come out in three or four years, the showrunner knows he'll be talking to HBO soon for what happens next. Bank on it.

"I actually do agree with HBO that this should be a continuing series. Maybe it'll continue in a year or two, maybe they'll continue it in four years or whatever, but I want to see more Watchmen. I do think that there has to be space for private, personal conversations that happen between HBO and I. My guess is some of those conversations are going to start happening this week."

Should we get a Watchmen Season 2? Probably not. Many have already felt that an HBO sequel was blasphemous enough but if it can match the same quality of this series, why not?

HBO's Watchmen has ended, though replays should be showing. It will likely be in HBO Max when that debuts.
