Dafne Keen’s Intense Logan Screen Test As X-23 Released

Sure all eyes were on Hugh Jackman as he played his swan song in his final feature film as 20th Century Fox and Marvel's Wolverine in Logan this year, however fans can't deny that they were taken in by Dafne Keen's performance as Laura Kinney.

Starring as Logan's young female clone, X-23, the Spanish-British child actor gave a pretty intense and dedicated delivery in the R-Rated comicbook movie. Now, as the film draws closer to its home release, Entertainment Weekly gives fans a chance to check out Keen's screen test as Laura with Jackman. Like the Laura that isn't afraid to swear in Logan, the screen test shows Keen cursing out loud right across the award-winning Australian actor and producer. It also shows off a few interviews from the film's cast and crew with one portion revealing how Keen had actually been asked to improvise during the screen test. Check it out down here:

"How do you have an 11-year-old character who doesn't speak in 90 pages?" Jackman said in an interview with the publication. "How does this happen? Who's going to playing it? [Director James Mangold] sent me a tape. Actually, it was just a still of an audition room somewhere. You could just tell by the look on her face. I was like, ‘Holy s—. This is something.'"

Watching Keen's ferocious performance, it's easy to see how the young child actress had been chosen for the part. Not all eleven-year-old stars have the guts or the ferociousness to go berserk onscreen the way Keen does.

Logan releases on Digital HD tomorrow and on Blu-Ray and DVD on May 23.
