Crisis on Infinite Earths recently kicked off its first episode on Sunday with Supergirl. Part 1 was surely an action-packed episode. However, it quickly got fans emotional with a surprise character death. And while fans are aware of a hero's death that's bound to happen sometime in the show, they didn't expect it to be THIS early.

The first episode featured a fallen hero in the form of Oliver Queen, who sacrificed his life to evacuate and save the people of Supergirl's Earth-38 who were bound to be killed by Anti-Monitor's evil antics.

If you recall, Monitor knew that Oliver would be facing his death in the Crisis back in the seventh season of Arrow. However, Monitor was shocked when he realized that the hero's death didn't exactly turn out the way he saw it.

Just like Monitor, fans were surprised to see that the first episode actually killed off Oliver and left people heartbroken and emotional, especially when the hero used his last breath to say goodbye to his daughter, Mia. You can check out some of the viewers' reactions on Twitter below.

And while Part 1 got real emotional, some fans still hope that Oliver will somehow come back in later episodes of Crisis. But for now, we've got no other choice but to move on and see what fate lies ahead for the other heroes in their fight with Anti-Monitor.

Crisis on Infinite Earths continues on Monday, Dec. 9 with Batwoman.
