Colin Trevorrow is Donating His Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Earnings to Charity

Colin Trevorrow might not be directing Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker like he was supposed to but he is getting paid for the work he did, getting a writing credit when the film debuts. While he's pretty busy with Universal's Jurassic World 3, which will reunite the original Jurassic Park crew, the man did let us fans know that he would be donating his The Rise of Skywalker pay to charity, which is nice and kind of a burn (or not).

Trevorrow told Deadline that he would be donating his The Rise of Skywalker check to the Alexander Divine Children's Hospice, an organization designed to take care of children with serious diseases. According to the film director, he's doing this because it's something that George Lucas' Star Wars taught him to do, which is really cool of him to mention.

Here's what Trevorrow had to say:

"Through his films, George Lucas taught us about our connection to all living things. He taught us to take care of one another, and he set a powerful example himself. The Alexander Devine Hospice helps families in the most challenging of times. I can't think of a more fitting way to honor George's legacy."

As many fans know, Trevorrow is one of the many Star Wars directors who left the production, though he did leave before The Last Jedi's title was even announced. Rumors have circulated online about why he left but it seems like Trevorrow is much happier working with the Jurassic World series of films.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is coming out on December 20.
