Code Geass Season 3 May Have Started Production

Last year, it was announced that Sunrise would be making a third season of Code Geass following its conclusion in 2008 with Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. The revival of the franchise stunned fans given how conclusive Season 2's ending was. Of course, like many other anime characters, some dead ones could be revived, and it looks like Lelouch will be resurrected for the third season sooner than we thought.

Fans recently discovered a PV trailer for Code Geass and its upcoming recap movie trilogy. Sunrise said that it would release three anime features that would sum up the entirety of Code Geass before the return of the anime franchise, and the PV featured images from Code Geass' past. The PV showed a series of captions and one of them caught the attention of netizens. In the halfway point of the PV, Comicbook reports that there's a slide that shows, "Code Geass' third chapter is in production. 2017 is the start of a new age!" Fans are starting to speculate that Sunrise already started working on the third season of Code Geass,Lelouch of the Resurrection.

There's still no news about the status of the anime and its films, and we still don't know when the new season will premiere, but I'm just glad that my most favorite anime franchise of all time will finally be revived.

You can check out more info about the anime film trilogy here.
