Christian Bale Was Considered for Mentor Role in Han Solo Movie Before Woody Harrelson

The Han Solo movie production is still looking for an actor to play the part of the rough and tumble smuggler's mentor in the upcoming Star Wars spinoff with reports indicating that The Hunger Games actor Woody is in the top bid for the role. A new update however reveals that Christian Bale had also been considered for the role, revealing the possibility of a DC actor jumping in to the Star Wars cinematic Universe.

Earlier today, word broke out that Emmy Award winning Hollywood actor Woody Harrelson was in the top spot of the list of actors being considered for the Han Solo standalone film.

Before him however, was The Dark Knight trilogy's Batman, Christian Bale. Borys Kit from The Hollywood Reporter revealed in a tweet that while the Han Solo mentor running is currently being dominated by Harrelson, Bale was once considered for the role.

While it is unlikely that Bale would jump on board the Han Solo movie project, there's no denying that Star Wars fans would love to have Batman join in on the Star Wars universe. Bale is a great actor, and besides, Liam Neeson, his onscreen mentor in Batman Begins, also appeared in the Star Wars saga in the franchise's prequel films. It would definitely be interesting to have Bale do the same in the Han Solo movie.

The Han Solo standalone is slated for release on the big screen May 25, 2018.
