Check Out The First Trailer For Disney’s Live-Action The Nutcracker And The Four Realms

After Disney's groundbreaking success with Beauty and the Beast earlier this year, you bet the mega-company is going to keep pumping out live-action adaptations of classic stories. The trailer just dropped for their new Nutcracker adaptation, and it looks like a big set-up for another Disney franchise.

Check it out:

Here's the official description:

All Clara (Mackenzie Foy) wants is a key – a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift from her late mother. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer's (Morgan Freeman) annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key—which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It's there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve Clara's key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world.

For a Christmas movie, you'd think that Disney would have it release December of next year, but we're actually getting The Nutcracker in November 2018. So far, production looks on par with Beauty and the Beast, and I bet the film is right up a certain demographic's alley.

The movie is directed by Lasse Hallstrom (Chocolat, Dear John) with Joe Johnston (Captain America: The First Avenger) also getting a credit. Personally I don't know how this movie is going to perform when it comes out, but maybe we should wait for more previews before passing judgement.

Disney's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms comes out Nov. 2, 2018.
