CCG Players Gather For Cards for Humanity COVID-19 Charity Tournament

This coming weekend, 983 Media will be running Cards For Humanity, its biggest multi-game event to date to help raise funds for the Solidarity Response Fund, a global operation focused on fighting the COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic on the frontlines. Various collectible card game players are set to gather in this charity event as it will feature four tournaments in Magic: The Gathering Arena, Legends of Lunterra, Mythgard, and Gwent.

Each of the four Swiss/top 8 tournaments will take place on April 11 to 12, and a top-eight 16-hour live broadcast will air on Saturday, April 18.

CCG players can now register for each of the four tournaments on 983Media website, and players who make it to the Top 8 should be able to record their gameplay for the April 18 broadcast.

There will be a broadcast team for each tournament during the livestream, featuring well-known casters like AliasV, Darick "CHARM3R" Oswalt, WatchFlake, Merchant, and Dan McBeard.

Here are the tournament details for each CCG:

MTG Arena

Participants are required to bring one deck to join the best-of-three Standard format on MTG Arena. Day 1 will include eight rounds of Swiss, followed by a top-16 single-elimination bracket on Day 2. The decklists in the tournament will be open.

Legends of Runterra

Only North American server players are qualified for the Legends of Runterra tournament. Each person submits only one deck for a best-of-three format with open decklists. Day 1 will have eight rounds of Swiss, followed by a top-16 single-elimination bracket on Day 2.

Mythgard

Each Mythgard player will submit one deck for the best-of-three, open decklist tournament. Day 1 will feature eight rounds of Swiss, followed by a top-16 single-elimination bracket on Day 2.

Gwent

Each player will compete with three decks from three different factions in a best-of-three , ban one, win two, open-decklist format. Eight rounds of Swiss in Day 1 will be followed by a top-16 single-elimination bracket on Day 2.

I'm excited to see these four CCG communities unite together in this event for a great cause. Now I'm thinking about participating in this event, and I'll probably stream it live on my Twitch channel this weekend.
