Carrie Fisher Had Finished Her Work on Star Wars: Episode VIII

The death of the beloved and talented Carrie Fisher had dealt quite a blow to friends, family, and fans all around. More than an icon in her early years, Fisher had proven that her involvement as Leia Organa is more than just to provide a pretty face in that epic Jabba the Hutt scene.

As General Organa, she had played quite a role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Her strong persona still shines, as fans battled the wave of nostalgia when she appeared on screen for the movie.

Now, Variety has learned that Fisher was able to finish all of her scenes for Star Wars Episode 8. The film is already in post-production, after having finished shooting in July.

Even with this, however, LucasFilm and Disney producers will have to figure out how to work on Fisher's character, as she was previously involved to work on the ninth installment of the series.

Apart from the Star Wars films, Fisher had other roles that involved both her acting and her writing skills. She was part of Amazon/Channel 4's Catastrophe, which will have its third season premiere next year. She had also been involved in Wonderwell, the film's status of which director Vlad Marsavin has yet to confirm.

Fisher was also involved in voice acting for Angela in Family Guy and a documentary coming to HBO in March titled Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.

This year has truly delivered blow after blow in every field. Who would've thought that it would even take away one of the greatest and wittiest stars with just less than a week to go? In any case, let's hope that our Princess rests among the stars where she will be among the brightest to shine.
