Bungie has announced on Twitter that the Open Beta for Destiny 2 has been extended to July 25, 2017. The Open Beta opened last Friday and it was originally meant to end on Sunday but they're giving players more time to experience it. Bungie probably needs more data and feedback from players to help improve the sequel to one of the best first-person shooter games released in the past decade.
The Open Beta for PC is still set to launch on late August, but Bungie hasn't stated what the additional testing would consist of. You can watch the launch trailer below:
Destiny 2 will be released for Playstation 4 and Xbox One on September 6; and the PC version on October 24.
