Bruce Wayne was Actually in the Joker Trailer

It's finally here. After months of waiting and holding on to online leaks, we finally have our first teaser trailer for Joker. While Joaquin Phoenix absolutely steals the film with every shot, there's actually a little appearance from young Bruce Wayne.

He's the kid that Arthur Fleck is trying to put a smile on from behind the gate:

Bruce isn't the only Wayne to appear in this movie though. Brett Cullen is actually playing Thomas Wayne, and it seems that he's going to be clashing with the Joker in this film as he runs for office. I have a feeling that Wayne Sr. is going to die before the film ends, but it's interesting to see him in a movie doing something else other than getting shot in Crime Alley.

The movie has actually cast Douglas Hodge (Black Mirror) as Alfred Pennyworth, so I expect that he's going to appear by the gate after Arthur runs into young Bruce. With Gotham having its own "tough guy" take on Alfred Pennyworth, I'm interested to see what kind of characterization he'll get for a film like this one.

Joker centers around the iconic arch-nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. The exploration of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.

Catch Joker in theaters Oct. 4.
