Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent Team Up In Batman V Superman Buddy Cop Trailer

Warner Bros. really had a rough time starting the engine on the DC Expanded Universe last year with the divisive Batman vs. Superman. Though the studio’s marketing campaign did manage to get filmgoers hyped for an excitingly gritty smashdown between DC’s poster boys, the film became a let-down for a number of viewers who criticized the film for being too dark and self-serious.

Though the director’s cut really helped the film, some other fans still wonder what Batman vs. Superman would have been if it added in a little bit of levity. Taking in footage from the movie and mixing it with a few clips from the Justice League trailers and Man of Steel, YouTube user ChiefBrodyRulespresents a goofy buddy-cop trailer of Dawn of Justice.

Check it out down here:

Mixing in a whole lot of explosions and battered vehicles, the trailer shows off the high jinks Ben Affleck’s Batman and Henry Cavill’s Clark Kent get in to in this buddy cop version of the follow-up to the Man of Steel. Though the editing could use some polishing, it’s hard not to appreciate how ChiefBrodyRules adds humor by adding in different shots from classic buddy cop films like Lethal Weapon 4.

While we may not be getting this kind of goofy humor from the DCEU soon, Warner Bros. did promise it’d lighten up the franchise and so far the trailer’s for Justice League have been pretty great.

Starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Raymond Fisher, Amy Adams, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen and J.K. Simmons, Justice League comes smashing in cinemas on November 17.
