Brie Larson Reveals Why She Loves Working With Marvel

Though DC may have jumped ahead and released Wonder Woman to astounding success, Marvel Studios is planning to release their female-lead movie Captain Marvel in 2019. At the center of the film will be actress Brie Larson, and she reveals what she loves so much about working with Marvel Studios for the project.

Talking to the Hollywood Reporter, Larson explains:

"That's one of the things that I'm so impressed with at Marvel – is that although they are this big company, at the same time their stories are really character driven and they care a lot about the journey of these characters and they understand that these films are a metaphor for the things that are very real in our lives. There's been a lot of talk about it, they're really open to the things I have to say about it, and it's super collaborative. It feels like any other job at this point, which is really wonderful."

With Marvel projects, a lot of directors have been open about how much creative freedom they get to work on their movies. Other studios like Warner Bros/DC have been said to be meddlesome when it comes to their movies, and don't even get us started on Lucasfilm firing three directors who had been working on their Star Wars movies for years.

For now, Captain Marvel is said to be a period film (like Wonder Woman) that will take place in the 90s and have the alien skrulls as the main villains. Captain Marvel will apparently not age once she gets her powers, and we'll also be introduced to a younger, two-eyed, Nick Fury.

Captain Marvel is set for a release on March 8, 2019.
