Brian Bendis Reveals the Fate of Punisher: End of Days

With Bendis leaving Marvel Comics for DC, fans have been wondering about the recently announced Punisher: End of Days mini-series that the writer was involved in. This would act as a sequel to the critically acclaimed Daredevil: End of Days and would have the same creative team in Bendis, David Mack, and Klaus Janson. However, Bendis has confirmed the greatest fear many fans had when his DC job was announced; it is pretty much canceled.

On Tumblr, Bendis stated that the series couldn't get off the ground because of how busy all of the creators involved are. Bendis has Iron Man, Spider-Man, The Defenders, and Jessica Jones to finish after all. Interestingly enough, Bendis said he would approve of the series continuing under David Mack and any other creators who are up to the challenge, claiming that Mack put in most of the work for that project.

Here is his full post:

"Nothing came of it because the creators involved like myself, David Mack, Klaus Jansen or Bill S. are very busy or had moved on to other companies and we never could really find the right window or the right creators to get it going again. If Marvel decides to continue the project with David and others I completely support that decision. David had done a lot more groundwork on it and I had. I hope they pursue it… if it fits their editorial plans. But, yes, now that I have signed a long-term exclusive with DC comics this project, and some others that you may never have heard of, will be going the way of Twilight of the Superheroes."
