The Blue Archive game continues to be popular over two years after its global launch. Soon, its popularity will likely grow even more as the Blue Archive release date has been confirmed, and it won’t be long until its premiere.
This upcoming anime was announced exactly one year ago today. After much anticipation, more details about the new Yostar Pictures anime were revealed.
Yostar Pictures’ Blue Archive Is Another Anime Based on a Gacha Game
Yostar Pictures is an anime studio established in early 2020 by the Chinese game developer, Yostar.
Since then, the studio has worked on several anime projects, most of which are adaptations of popular mobile games like Azur Lane.
Perhaps their most popular anime though is Arknights, which is based on the mobile tactical defense RPG published by the company’s gaming division.
Now, Yostar Pictures is back with another adaptation of a popular game in cooperation with studio CANDYBOX. This time, it’s Blue Archive, a mobile game published by Yostar in China and Japan, and Nexon worldwide.

Blue Archive Anime Cast Revealed
Like other popular gacha games like Genshin Impact, the Blue Archive game features lots of notable anime voice actors.
For the upcoming anime, Yostar Pictures brought back the game’s VAs to voice their respective characters.
The anime’s main cast includes:
- Yui Ogura (Priestess in Goblin Slayer) as Shiroko Sunaookami
- Yumiri Hanamori (Ai Hayasaka in Kaguya-sama: Love is War) as Hoshino Takanashi
- Ayaka Ohashi (Aki Adagaki in Masamune-kun's Revenge) as Serika Kuromi
- Chiyuki Miura (Ymir Fritz in Attack on Titan) as Nonomi Iyazoi
- Sayaka Harada (Chiya in Urara Meirocho) as Ayane Okusora
- Konomi Kohara (Roxy Migurdia in Mushoku Tensei) as Arona
- Reina Kondo (Nikaido in Dorohedoro) as Aru Rikuchima
- Yukiko Fuji (Misao Kiyomi in Idol Bu Show) as Kayoko Onikata
- Erika Ishitobi (Harumi Taniguchi in Citrus) as Haruka Igusa
- Rumi Okubo (Mem-cho in Oshi no Ko) as Mutsuki Asagi
Blue Archive Release Window Confirmed in New Teaser Trailer
Officially titled Blue Archive the Animation, this new series got a teaser trailer last year. Now, a new trailer has been shared, which features a fair amount of new clips.
The trailer also confirms that the Blue Archive anime’s release date is in April 2024. Currently, there’s no word yet on an official release date.
Where to Watch Blue Archive the Animation: Our Predictions
For now, it's only confirmed that the series will air in Japan on networks such as TV Tokyo and BS11.
Given that the Arknights anime’s two seasons were streamed on Crunchyroll, this new series will likely also be released there. An announcement will likely be made closer to its premiere date.
