Blade Reboot May Introduce The X-Men Into The MCU

Now that Disney's completed its merger with 21st Century Fox and acquired the studio's various film and television assets, Marvel fans have been eagerly looking forward to the integration of the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool, and the rest of Fox's other mutant heroes into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, as exciting as the arrival of the X-Men into the MCU sounds, Marvel has yet to make explicit announcements regarding the mutants.

Now, as fans continue to wait for word about the X-Men in the MCU, The Hollywood Reporter tries to speculate the mutants introduction saying that Marvel's Blade reboot could very well bring in the X-Men into the franchise.

Last week, fans were more than delighted to hear the news that Marvel was planning to work on a Blade reboot, this time with Academy Award-winning actor Mahershala Ali as everyone's favorite Daywalker. Not only does a Blade reboot suggest the start of R-Rated Marvel movies, but THR also believes that the film could very well introduce the X-Men.

Blade has been connected to Charles Xavier's X-Men in the comics, and while a horror storyline might seem like a surprising way to introduce the mutants, it could be an easy path for Marvel. Perhaps Marvel could drop a few small nods leading to the X-Men's arrival, like a reference or a cameo of a vampire version of Jubilee. Or maybe the film could tease the subterranean mutant group called the Morlocks. That would be relatively easy, wouldn't it?

Of course, we can't really tell what Marvel has planned for the mutants yet. Let's just hang tight and wait and see.

Phase 4 begins with Black Widow which premieres on May 1, 2020.
