Black Widow Movie Aiming For A 2020 Release

After nearly ten years in the MCU, Natasha Romanoff is finally getting her own movie. A Black Widow script is currently in the works, and now Marvel Studios is said to have a tentative release date.

According to Daily Mail, Marvel is aiming to release the Black Widow movie sometime in 2020. For now, the only movie set to come out that year in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but the way these MCU films go, we still have room for two more films to come out.

As of now, we still have no idea what the Black Widow movie could be about, but I'm just hoping that it doesn't end up being a typical "super spy lady agent kicking everyone's ass." Though I'm all for a Black Widow film, I feel like the formula has been retread over and over again what with films like Atomic Blonde, Ghost in the Shell, Lucy, and Salt.

Maybe Widow can go against an extra-terrestrial threat? Maybe a Secret Invasion storyline where she doesn't know who to trust?

With the successful release of Wonder Woman last year, Hollywood is now more than ready to see more superheroines grace the screen. Hopefully Marvel Studios comes up with a film that everybody is satisfied with.

The Black Widow solo film is aiming for a release in 2020.
