It seems that another MCU star is making the jump to DC with Black Panther and Fantastic Four reboot star Michael B. Jordan in the talks for a Black Superman limited series project on HBO Max where he may play the titular hero as Val-Zod, and it is reportedly in development with his own production company, Outlier Society.

In a report from Collider, Jordan and his own production company, Outlier Society, is in the works developing a Superman limited series centered on Val-Zod and that they already hired a writer for the show though they have not yet identified who. While Jordan hasn't committed yet, he may be playing the titular hero. On top of this, they are also working on a Static Shock film with Warner Bros. and DC Films.

For years, the name of Michael B. Jordanhas been ringing the bells as a replacement to Henry Cavill's Superman and he remained coy when asked about it. He even told CinePOP in April, "I mean I don't know. I don't really know what is going with that in particular, but I think that everybody's wants and desire to see Black leads in heroic roles are really really important. Let's just see how things shake out."

The following month, in a talk with Collider about the upcoming film Static Shock, he shared feeling flattered by the rumors about him wearing the cape of Superman, "I'm flattered that I keep coming up in conversation in these rumors to play characters like that. I mean, as you know, I've been rumored to play so many different characters over the years. I mean, at this point, it's flattering, I'm humbled by it. And whoever ends up stepping into that role, it's definitely one to look for."

The character of Val-Zod was created by Nicola Scott, Tom Taylor, and Robson Rocha in the 2014 comic Earth 2 #19 where he was from Krypton and his parents were killed there before the destruction. He arrived on Earth becoming a pacifist and a shut-in but he eventually came out of hiding revealing his true nature.

Michael B. Jordan is best known for his roles as Killmonger in Black Panther, Human Torch in the Fantastic Four reboot, Adonis Creed in Creed, and its sequel, among many others. His most recent appearance was a cameo in Space Jam: A New Legacy.
