Black Panther 2 Actress Angela Bassett Accidentally Lets Out Major Spoiler

Black Panther was a groundbreaking Marvel movie. Not only did the film make a mark as T'Challa's (Chadwick Boseman) very first standalone movie, it also broke ground as the very first comic book movie to feature a mostly black cast.

Now, as Marvel waits for Black Widow to kickstart Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans can't help but wonder what Marvel might be preparing for Black Panther 2. Though Marvel has remained tight-lipped about the film, Black Panther 2 star Angela Bassett (Queen Ramonda) has decided to drop a nice little tease about the highly anticipated Black Panther sequel.

Sitting down to speak in an interview with Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show, the actress was asked how the production of Black Panther 2 was coming along.

"Going along, coming along. Amazing. Absolutely," Bassett answered nonchalantly.

Fallon then pushes a major spoiler forward tell the actress a big secret that Bassett had shared before taping the episode of The Tonight Show.

"You were telling me backstage that they decided to change the costume of Black Panther," Fallon said coyly.

Shocked that Fallon let the spoiler out on the show, Bassett chided the late-night television host.

"Jimmy....I was telling you that in confidence! I cannot!"

The host then tells the audience that he was just joking about Black Panther's new outfit, though he does also admit that he may have gotten Bassett in trouble with Marvel Studios.

Of course, a costume change sudden come as quite a surprise to Marvel fans. T'Challa may want an updated suit after the fight in Avengers: Endgame. Besides, a new movie calls for a new look, doesn't it?

Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres on May 1, 2020.
