Ben Affleck Says Wonder Woman Helped Take Off The Pressure For Justice League

While DC fans might think that Wonder Woman might have added pressure to Zack Snyder's Justice League, DC Extended Universe star Ben Affleck believes that the commercial and critical success of Gal Gadot's first solo film as Diana Prince actually helped take some of the pressure off of the DC team-up movie.

Speaking in an interview with Empire (via Screen Rant), Affleck was asked what the pressure was like to have such a big film trying to tie in together quite a number of older movies. According to the filmmaker and actor, the reception of Wonder Woman actually helped release the tension for Justice League, making sure that the film didn't have to carry the entire weight of the DCEU.

"It maybe takes a bit of pressure off of this movie in terms of needing to define the DC Universe. It doesn't feel like the whole world is riding on our shoulders so much"

The DCEU might have had a pretty rough start with Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad, but Wonder Woman definitely changed things for the burgeoning superhero franchise. Breaking box office records and swimming in warm reviews from both fans and critics, Wonder Woman became the DCEU's first taste of success.

Now, it seems like fans have a more positive outlook towards Justice League with everyone's hoping for another success story for the DCEU. Let's wait and see whether the team-up film will turn out to be another win for Warner Bros.' superhero franchise.

Justice League premieres November 17, 2017.
