BBC Unveils New Doctor Who Logo and Poster

With a new showrunner onboard, it's not just the Doctor's gender that's changing for Doctor Who. BBC has just unveiled a new logo for the show, and we have a new poster with Jodie Whitaker standing with the TARDIS.

Here's the poster:

It's worth noting that this new logo comes with the intent to usher DW into an entirely new era. Besides the brand new Doctor, the show will also be run by someone who isn't Steven Moffat, Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch).

I don't know about you, but the logo kind of reminds me of Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange. Either it's a coincidence, or the marketing team want to attach the show to a popular brand. I also just realized that several Who actors have appeared in the MCU like Karen Gillan and Christopher Eccleston; David Tennant was also a terrifying villain in Jessica Jones.

While there are certainly some fans who attest to having the Doctor be a woman this time around, some have showed complete support for the shake-up in the classic Who formula.

No specific release date has been announced for the new Doctor Who, but the show is set to premiere on BBC America sometime this fall.
