Batwoman Trailer Called Out For 'Feminist Agenda,' Racks Up Almost 240K+ Dislikes

YouTube users continue to show their rage over the new Batwoman trailer in full force with a barrage of dislikes.

At 3.8 million views, the trailer released May 16 has garnered 248,000 dislikes at the time of writing This is four times the likes on the video, which are at 65,000, it is rising at an alarmingly fast rate.

Negative comments have also tripled with fans cringing at what is being interpreted as social justice pandering. There are almost 70,000 comments on the Batwoman trailer than tend to say the same thing--the trailer wasn't all too subtle about its "feminist agenda."

Viewers always come back to a couple of lines in the trailer. First is a line that Ruby Rose's Kate Kane says when she requests for adjustments to Bruce Wayne's batsuit to fit her. Camrus Johnson's Luke Fox responds that the suit is "literal perfection."

"It will be when it fits a woman," she responded. Fans think that she could have just said "when it fits me," but that "cringeworthy" line, they believe, is a blatant showcase of social justice propaganda.

Another part of the Batwoman trailer commenters just downright criticize is how the character gets bummed about people thinking that it was the original Batman and not her who is saving the day at Gotham after the Caped Crusader "gave up" on them.

"I'm not going to let a man take credit for a woman's work," Kate says in the trailer. Hundreds of fans can't seem to understand why she would say that when she is basically using all her cousin's stuff for her heroics. Twitter feels the same about the trailer.

Some fans admitted that it looked cool and the concept was great up until the identity politics ruined it.

Either way, there is definitely a lot of frustration surrounding the Batwoman trailer. However, if Captain Marvel made a billion dollars at the box office marred by controversies very similar to this, perhaps this new Arrowverse series will also fare better than what the like to dislike ratio is showing.
