Back To The Future Writer Thinks Doctor Strange Film Will Be Terrible

Marvel Studios was bashed for casting Tilda Swintonas the white-washed Ancient One in their upcoming Doctor Strange film.

Now the Back To The Future writer Bob Gale, who also penned a Doctor Strange screenplay in the 80's and is described as a "huge fan" of the character, shared his thoughts about the film and the controversial casting decision. Despite efforts to clarify the casting decision, a lot of fans expressed their disappointment about it. Even Star Trek'sGeorge Takei felt insulted.

Gale recently told MoviePilot what he thought about the upcoming film, expressing his disapproval about the studio's gender-swapping and white-washing decision:

"You've got the Ancient One as Tilda Swinton. Give me a break! Really? I mean, it's stupid. You know?"

When asked if he's excited to see Doctor Strange, he said, "No."

The article went on to say that Bob Gale doesn't think Marvel Studios will be able to adapt the right vision for Doctor Strange on the big screen, and that he didn't want to see it because he didn't think too highly of it after seeing the first trailer.

Doctor Strange will be released in theaters on November 4, 2016. The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Benedict Wong and Mads Mikkelsen.
