Avengers: Infinity War Has Already Sold Out More Than A Thousand Showtimes

Avengers: Infinity War might not have made its premiere just yet but it seems like the first film in Marvel's two-part Avengers movie has already started making its mark in the box office, selling out over 1,000 showtimes around the globe.

According to a report by online ticket seller Fandango (via CNN), Avengers: Infinity War showtimes have sold out more than a thousand times in advance. Because of the excessively high demand for Infinity War tickets, theater owners have been forced to continually post new time slots for the film on the site. A 3:05 am April 27 showing of Infinity War opened in New York because of the demand for premiere day screenings.

The ticketing company also said last week that Avengers 3 was selling twice as many advanced tickets as Marvel's Black Panther during the same point at both film's sales cycle. That's pretty huge. Not only was Black Panther well received during its release, the film also broke Fandango's pre-ticket sale record before it premiered. Now Marvel's breaking the record again, this time with Infinity War.

There's definitely a lot of excitement building up over the studio's third Avenger movie. Infinity War marks the beginning of the culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: the start of the end. The film's sequel, Avengers 4, will mark the end of the third phase of the MCU, signaling the start of a new era for the franchise.

Avengers: Infinity War premieres this Friday, April 27.
