One of the most heart-wrenching scenes in Avengers: Endgame was Iron Man's death. And even though it's been months since the movie was released, fans still can't get over it. And now, the film's editor shared more details about Tony Stark's last moments.

In a recent interview with Collider, Jeff Ford, Endgame editor, revealed that there were multiple versions of Iron Man's final moments. Ford said that this is just how Robert Downey Jr. works. He pointed out that the actor "likes to explore" and "try different things." Downey likes to do this on camera just in case he hits something "special," which he does very often.

Downey is said to have different ideas for his scene, and some of them were "crazy," and the editor says some of them they "would never have used." He didn't go into detail about the said takes because he didn't want to "peel back the curtain on it too much."

He did describe the shots taken into categories. He revealed that some of the takes were jokes and some were "obscenities." Downey also made some emotional, raw, and "insane" takes. But he also did a combination of the three.

Ford found it easier to find the perfect take because he was looking for a moment between Thanos and Tony. He wanted a scene that would give the audience "that moment." When they discovered Thanos' line, "I am inevitable," was a part of a structure in the script, they knew that they had to base Tony's "I am Iron Man" line off from that particular part of the script.

This was a scene they went with because the couplet is what makes the scene work. Ford said that upon editing the film, he found that the symmetry was interesting.

Despite the scene that made the cut, Ford said his favorite version of Tony's last moments includes Thanos and Iron Man not saying anything. Instead, they just had these exchange of glances. Ford said it was beautiful and that it worked really well but they had to give Thanos an "arc" in Endgame.

What do you think of Ford's story about multiple versions of Tony Stark's final moments? Would you like to see some cuts to these as well? Share your thoughts below!
