Avengers: Endgame Director On The Surprising Cameos That Were Difficult To Work On

Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo might have already had quite a challenge squeezing in so many Marvel heroes and villains in one film, but the filmmaker also managed to fit in a few surprising cameos in the mix.

Because of the Avengers' Time Heist, fans got to see a few forgotten characters like Thor: The Dark World's Frigga (Rene Russo) and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). They even got to see Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) from Captain America: The First Avenger and the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) from Doctor Strange.

However, it seems like the most difficult cameos actually came from characters that Marvel fans weren't that all familiar with.

Speaking in an interview with Cleveland.com, Anthony Russo opened up about the cameos that caused the production the most trouble. As it turns out, these cameos were the Russo Brother's children who appeared in the Smart Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) scene with Ant-Man (Paul Rudd).

"The hardest one was a scene in the movie where it's the scene in the diner where we introduced Smart Hulk the first time," Anthony revealed, "So, he's sitting there with Ant-Man, Black Widow and Captain America, and there's these three kids that walk in who are fans of Hulk. They want a picture with him. And those three kids are, one is my son Julian. One is my brother's daughter, Lia. One is my sister's son, Augie."

According to the director, the most difficult part about these cameos was working the children's schedules into the schedule of the film's production – after all, these children had school.

It might come as a bit of a surprise to fans, but it's definitely sweet to see the Russos working around their schedule to bring their children into one of the biggest films that they've ever made.

Avengers: Endgame is available on Digital HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
