Artist Creates Wonderful Star Wars and Studio Ghibli Crossover Art

Artist Lap Pun Cheung has created the perfect crossover between fantasy and sci-fi with two of the most beloved movie productions – Star Wars and Studio Ghibli.

Lap Pun Cheung came up with the images after being inspired by CG+’s contest, Star Wars: Reimagined. The artist may not have joined the contest, but he may very well have.

Studio Ghibli has been known to create films with only the best animation aesthetics. Add to that the world of Star Wars, the results are just too good.

Check out Lap Pun Cheung’s creations:

Here’s one image of Rey, Finn, Han Solo, and Chewbacca against what I think could be a backdrop from Porco Rosso.

Here’s Jedi Masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn ready to fight Darth Maul in what appears to be a place from Laputa:Castle in the Sky.

Another one possibly showing a setting from Castle in the Sky is this with Darth Vader aptly on a battle airship.

It’s worth noting that the image with Darth Vader had already been created even before the contest began, so it could mean that the artist could make even more of these ingenious crossovers months after the contest.

Being a fan of both productions, I can’t wait to see more of these crossovers.
