Arkham Games Developer Rumored to Announce Superman Game Soon

Rocksteady did some phenomenal work with the Arkham Asylum games, and rumors have been flying around that the studio is working on a Superman game. We haven't been getting any official updates as of late, but a new supposed leak in 4chan is claiming that the studio is planning on making an announcement before E3.

The source writes:

Superman Game Incoming

- Made by Rocksteady

- Unreal Engine 4

- Big open world Metropolis(about 3 times the size of Arkham Knight with a lot more buildings)

- Can't play as Clark Kent

- Main villain is Brainiac

- Nerfed Superman (TAS Levels)

- Semi-destructible environments (think AK, no buildings are falling over)

- Combat system integrates the flying (kind of like DBZ, you can punch someone then zoom towards them and repeat)

- Set within the Arkhamverse

- Tons of easter eggs to Superman's lore, and some to the events that took place in the Batman Arkham Franchise

Rocksteady and WB Montreal are also working on a joint multiplayer game (Hence the multiplayer hirings on Rocksteady's site). This is for a planned Justice League game down the road. They had to nail Superman first. Announcement should be incoming about a couple weeks before E3. (One of those "see more/gameplay at E3 type of reveals)

Of course, some people should take this information with a grain of salt, since rumors of a Superman game from Rocksteady have been coming out since last year. Game Informer's Andrew Reiner even squashed those hopes last December, but you can't stop the fans from hoping these rumors are true.

With Rocksteady basically perfecting Batman games with the Arkham series, a lot of people are ready to see what they would have to bring to a character like Superman. We have yet to get a great game with the Man of Steel as the main character, but hopefully the developers at Rocksteady are up for the challenge. That is, if they even are working on this game.

E3 2018 is happening on June 12–June 14, so hopefully we get an update beforethat time.
