Aquaman’s Jason Momoa Lands New Lead Role for Videogame Movie

Another videogame turned movie is in the works for the big screen, and it will be starring a very familiar face that's making a buzz recently.

Jason Momoa, known very well for the promising Aquaman movie from DC, as well as his stint as Khal Drogo in the fantasy series Game of Thrones has reportedly been tapped to play the main role for the planned Just Cause adaptation, Deadline reported.

From the looks of it, Momoa is already invested so much so that he has already signed on for the project. Brad Peyton has solidified his commitment with the project as the director, while John Collee has also delivered as far as screenplay is concerned.

So far, there are no other developments for Just Cause beyond the early steps in production. This is understandable considering Momoa is very busy as the King of Atlantis for the ensemble movie, Justice League, and with pending filming for his own solo movie with his character as the titular role.

Peyton is just as busy, as he still has Rampage to finish production and Black Hole to finish filming.

My biggest concern is the videogame curse. Screenwriters, directors, and actors may have the noblest of intentions getting into projects like these, but a videogame-based movie has yet to truly show us a great showcase on the big screen.

No release date has been set for the Just Cause adaptation but 20th Century Fox has already signed as distributor.
