Aquaman Post-Credits Scene Teases A Possible Spinoff Featuring [SPOILERS]

There is much to look forward to in Aquaman, from stunning action sequences to laugh out loud moments courtesy of Jason Momoa. However, the film's post-credits scene certainly teases on a new story featuring a major character who could headline another DC Extended Universe flick.

Spoilers Ahead! You Have Been Warned!

In Aquaman, David Kane is one of the first characters who get to encounter Arthur Curry. Unfortunately, their first meeting doesn't work out too well for David, who loses more than he could handle. Needless to say, he spends most of the film seeking Arthur out and ultimately facing Aquaman with a fancy new weapon.

Their second encounter is even worse for David, who is now known as Black Manta, and although we think he's gone for good, he turns up in the post-credits scene. David is rescued by Dr. Stephen Shin, the scientist who has been obsessed with the lost city of Atlantis. The furious David agrees to bring Shin to Atlantis so he can go after Aquaman once again.

It certainly looks like Black Manta could return in yet another DCEU film, but which one? There are speculations that the villain could eventually team up with the other baddies with a grudge against the superheroes. It's possible that David will work with Lex Luthor and Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke, who were both plotting against the heroes in the Justice League post-credits scene.

It's still unclear what Warner Bros. has planned for the DCEU although fans are hoping that a Legion of Doom film is happening in the future. For now, we recommend taking this with a grain of salt.

Aquaman hits theaters on December 21.
