Even before we get a lot of updates or even a concrete storyline for DC's highly touted solo movie Aquaman, a new report has suggested the movie's delay.

According to Comicbook Movie, the James Wan-directed movie will no longer premiere in theaters on July 27, 2018. Rather, it will be shown three months later on Oct. 5, 2018.

Granted, that's still a long way to go, and there are some other DC films expected to release before that, specifically Wonder Woman on June 2, 2017, Justice League on Nov. 16, 2017, and The Flash on March 16, 2018.

Earlier reports have suggested that DC and Warner Bros. have very high hopes for Aquaman's solo movie. Perhaps this delay actually signals some good developments, production-wise? Usually, delays can mean improvement—unless, of course, it's about major step backs like a director exit.

Whatever the case, it seems that Wan is very much onboard and active with Aquaman's production. Just recently, he teased an image via Instagram, which could be one of the scouted locations for filming. It shows what could be a coastal town with a close shot of a boat—perfect elements, if we're talking about Arthur Curry's potential origins.

Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as the King of Atlantis, Amber Heard as his Queen Mera, and Willem Dafoe as Vulko.
