Aquaman: James Wan Shares An Image Of Atlantean Armor For The New Year; Is That Aquaman's Hook Hand?

With Justice League underperforming in the box office, Warner Bros looks to be taking extra careful steps with the future of the DCEU. As of now, Aquaman is the only DC film slated for a release this year, and director James Wan has decided to celebrate the new year by teasing us with some Atlantean armor. If you also look closely, you can see something resembling Aquaman's hook-hand from the comics.

Check it out:

If it didn't come from Wan himself, I would have guessed that the picture came from the set of Game of Thrones. With so much to discover in the Atlantis of the DCEU, I wonder if Wan has some Lovecraftian-sized monsters dwelling in the deep. How crazy would it be if Patrick Wilson's Ocean Master summoned a Kraken to go against Momoa's Aquaman?

Hopefully Aquaman turns out a more solid movie than Suicide Squad or Justice League, and James Wan is ready to deliver a Wonder Woman-level successful film. DC fans may be getting bummed out that WB hasn't been giving us the "best" material, but hopefully 2019 will see a change of pace.

Here's the synopsis for Aquaman:

Aquaman finds himself caught between a surface world that ravages the sea and the underwater Atlanteans who are ready to revolt.

Aquaman is slated for a release on Dec. 21.
