Animated Spider-Man Film Contributor Revealed

Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch may have landed his new gig.

And this may be related to the friendly neighborhood web-slinger Spider-Man the animated film for Sony, The Wrap reported.

This new film will no longer focus on Peter Parker, and will instead have Miles Morales at the forefront. Miles as the focus was already announced by Sony Pictures Animation as early as the start of the year.

It's also known that Bob Persichetti and Peter Ramsey will be directing the feature, while Phil Lord is in charge of the script. Christopher Miller, Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, Christina Steinberg, and Phil Lord will be producers for the film.

Miles Morales introduction to the big screen is part a gradual move from the Ultimate Spider-Man comic book series. The character, which was the brainchild of Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, is supposed to bump off Peter Parker for the series. The feature film isn't the first time we've seen Miles onscreen, as he has already been introduced as early as his appearances in the Ultimate Spider-Man Disney XD.

Sony's Spider-Man the animated feature will be out in theaters on Dec. 21, 2018.
