After Binge-Watching 'The Walking Dead', New Mexico Man Kills "Zombie" Friend

Apparently, watching a show about zombies could turn you into a zombie. At least, that's what the killer was claiming in Grants, New Mexico after he was arrested for killing his friend after binge-watching The Walking Dead.

The 23-year-old man, Damon Perry, was drinking heavily while watching AMC's hit with his friend Christopher Pquin when Paquin allegedly tried to bite him. Perry responded by stabbing his friend, then brutally murdering him with an electric guitar and microwave. Here's what Grants Police Department spokesperson Moses Marquez about the crime:

"In my 13 years of doing this, that was the most brutal scene I have ever seen," said Grants Police Department spokesman Moses Marquez.
Perry told authorities he believed his friend was turning into a zombie and about to bite him. Police said Perry beat his friend to death with a microwave and a guitar and stabbed him with a knife.

Police were called only after Perry left his apartment and was found chasing a woman around the complex with a knife. The killer was tackled by two maintenance workers who restrained him until the authorities arrived. Perry confessed to the murder at the scene and blamed it on binge-watching the postapocalyptic TV series. He said he was feared that Paquin himself was turning into a zombie.
